The Upsilon Beta Chapter at Old Dominion University is a diverse group of hard working undergraduate and graduate students who want to make a difference. The brothers come from many different backgrounds including student leadership, Monarch Marching Band, honor societies , and military affiliations. The Upsilon Beta Chapter is committed to promoting Theta Tau's three pillars professionalism, service, brotherhood.
We do service events in the Norfolk community, such as Adopt-A-Spot and Beach Clean up. We are involved in campus life and participate in Homecoming, Geek Week, and Engineering Week. Throughout these exciting events on campus we are able to help set up, support and clean up, showing our support and love for giving back to the school and the surrounding community.
Our brotherhood is a very strong bond that we cherish here at ODU. We are each others support system and are always cheering each other on. We take pride in our traditions and make sure we share the importance of those with prospective members. As a whole, we a tight knit unit and go above and beyond for each other no matter how big we get as a chapter. This brotherhood reaches far into our futures as alumni as we hold numerous alumni events and make sure we try to include our alumni in everything the chapter plans. A lot if our alumni love dropping in for a weekend just to check in and spend time with the active brothers and get to know the newer brothers.
With being such a tightly-knit group of individuals we push each other to become the best we can be. We provide assistance for each other from networking and guidance for internship opportunities, resume building and elevator speeches. We also strive to create a comfortable environment for brothers, who need support, to feel at ease. This way we can learn as a whole how to react to, deal with, and understand different situations in a professional setting.
